Afghanistan To Stone Adulterers?

The United States has spent 16 billion dollars to promote human rights in Afghanistan, yet that country may revert to Taliban law.

According to article 21 of the new penal code draft being drawn up by the ministry of Justice,  "Men and women who commit adultery shall be punished based on the circumstances to one of the following punishments: lashing, stoning [to death],"

Article 23 of the draft, being drawn up by the ministry of justice, specifies that the stoning should be public.

Unmaried adulterers would face 100 lashes under the changes.
