This is possibily the most grotesque thing I have ever seen.

My Dad sent me an E-mail Monday that seemed so preposterous, I thought he had lost his mind.  Immediately I checked it out, and as best I can tell, the thing is real.  It is called

KROKODIL

That is an Americanization of the Russian word for "crocodile".

Dad wrote: A new illegal opiate is spreading like wildfire in Russia and now is being exported to other countries including the U.S.

The name comes from the side effects at the injection site because it turns the skin green and scaly like a crocodile's.
    • The drug has about the same kick as heroin.
    • Addicts using krokodil live on the average only 2-3 years.
  • The poison utterly destroys the tissue around the injection site.
  • When I learn about a story like this, I always go to "Snopes" It's like a clearing house for internet nonsense.  I was stunned to find out KRODODIL is true.

The pictures are frightening.  Visit the link at your own peril.

This is a second site that shows the utter dispair of addicts at a Russian Krokodil house.

CAUTION: Very graphic photos are in the Snopes report
